even though i have yet to reach my weight goal of 180 lbs. (thursday's weigh-in was 188), i am starting to feel a little complacent about where i am. i wonder if i just jumped out of one rut into another. work certainly has been difficult the last couple of weeks with being short-handed, but i have successfully continued my work-outs and eating in a heathy way. yet, something is still missing.
some options have come to mind. i could take the work-outs to another level, and join a fitness gym like cardinal or lifestyle. or, i could elevate my game to the p90x work-out (my roommates suggestion as its been kicking his ass!) one thing i know is that i need to get some external pressure through making this transformation a group effort. i know i really get a lot out of learning new skills and ideas when i get the privilege of teaching and/or sharing the information.
i've actually developed a deeper connection with several people at work the more weight i've lost. its definitely a more interesting conversation than discussing their last night's adventures. chad in particular has really caught fire with a healthier lifestyle. and, its been my pleasure to share in both our commitments to become healthier individuals.
one idea i've had is sort of a simple plan for a myriad of reasons. as part of my daily interaction with each individual at work i will pledge to have a 3 X 5 card on each one to keep notes of not only their work goals, but also to find out their life's goals or passions. then, i will have something deeper to connect with each one than simply walking by them to correct their misbehaviors at work (LOL)! of course this will benefit me in the long run by not only having a better relationship with some of them; but also the benefit of knowing that at least for a short time each day, i might also be helping someone along their life's path.
any thoughts, comments, or suggestions are most certainly welcome; because like i said, i kinda feel i've reached a crossroads in my transformation. i'm feeling a little too comfortable with it, and that disturbs me.
